Your First Trade

Ready to make your first trade on gg.xyz? This guide walks you through the process step by step.

Step 1: Find a Thesis

Browse the Alpha Feed or Open Feed to find thesis posts that interest you.

Look for:

• Clear reasoning: Does the thesis make sense?

• Track record: What's the author's historical performance?

• Timing: When was the call made? What's the current performance?

• Risk level: What's the conviction level and timeframe?

Pro tip: Start with posts from alpha hunters with verified track records. Check their profile to see past performance.

Step 2: Evaluate the Call

Before trading, review the key metrics on the thesis post:

• Called MC: The market cap when the alpha hunter made the call

• Live MC: The current market cap

• Gains: How much the token has moved since the call (e.g., 2.5X)

• Post Volume: How much trading activity the post has generated

A call that's already up 10X might have limited upside. A fresh call at the Called MC might have more room to run.

Step 3: Quick Buy

Once you've found a thesis you want to trade:

1. Click the "Quick Buy" button on the post

2. Select your purchase amount from the dropdown

3. Review the transaction details

4. Click "Buy" and confirm in your wallet

Alternative: Use the Swap Interface

For more control over your trade, use the full swap interface:

1. Click on the token card to open the swap modal

2. Enter the amount you want to spend

3. Or use the percentage buttons (20%, 50%, MAX)

4. Review the output amount and price impact

5. Adjust slippage if needed (default is auto)

6. Click "Swap" and confirm in your wallet

Step 4: Monitor Your Position

After buying, you can track your position:

• On Your Profile: Go to Profile → Tokens Balances to see all your holdings and P&L.
